Warner Bros.' new film "Batgirl" has a new cast: the male lead of "The Mummy"

According to foreign media Deadline, "The Mummy" actor Brendan Fraser has joined the DC new film "Batgirl" to play the villain Firefly. "Batgirl" Barbara Gordon has been confirmed to be played by African-American Latina actress Leslie Grace ("In the Heights"). J.K. Simmons returns to play Commissioner Gordon, who is also Barbara's father, and Jacob Scipio ("Bad Boys for Life" and "Infernal Affairs") also stars.

Directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilal Fallah (Bad Boys for Life), written by Christina Hodson (Bumblebee, Birds of Prey), the film will be released on HBO Max. In the comics, Firefly's real name is Garfield Lynns. He was originally portrayed as a criminal who used various lighting effects and optical illusions to commit robberies, but was later reshaped into an antisocial arsonist with a compulsive arson disorder.

Firefly is a pyrotechnic expert with a comprehensive knowledge of flammable agents and explosives, equipped with a flamethrower, various incendiary devices, and a winged jetpack for high-speed flight using a fire-resistant combat suit.

Many characters in the comics have used the title of Batgirl, the most famous of which is Barbara Gordon. She has no superpowers, but is good at fighting and is also a computer expert. Like Batman, she has all kinds of cool auxiliary equipment.
