'Squidward' brings Netflix nearly $900 million in value

After the release of Netflix's original Korean drama "Squid Game", the number of global viewers exceeded 100 million in just one month, making it the platform's most popular work in its first month of premiere. Bloomberg recently quoted Netflix's internal documents as saying that "Squid Game" has become Netflix's most popular work in its first month of premiere, and the series has brought Netflix an impact value of US$891 million (approximately RMB 5.73 billion).

"Squid!" has been viewed and clicked by 110 million users worldwide, accounting for more than half of the 209 million users in its second season, making it the most popular work in the platform's first month of broadcast.

Bloomberg cited Netflix's internal documents, saying that the total production cost of "Squidward Fever" was about $21.4 million. Based on 9 episodes, the average cost per episode was about $2.378 million, which is a relatively low-cost production among Netflix's original series. The series brought Netflix an impact value of $891 million, which is 40 times the total cost. No wonder Netflix's stock price has risen 6.61% since the show premiered, bringing a market value increase of $19.2 billion.

Bloomberg News pointed out that within 23 days of the launch of Squidward, Netflix users have spent about 1.4 billion hours watching the series, with about 132 million users around the world watching for at least 2 minutes, and about 89% of users watching for at least 75 minutes, which is more than one episode. It is estimated that 66% of people have watched the entire series on the first day of its launch.

The statistical time is limited to 28 days after the broadcast. Data after 28 days and historical total data will not be used as a reference and will not be announced to the public.
