"Mickey No. 17" released the first trailer. The director of "Parasite" wrote and directed it himself

The first trailer for the science fiction film "Mickey17", written and directed by Bong Joon-ho, the director/screenwriter of the Oscar-winning film "Parasite", was released. The film stars Robert Pattinson, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Naomi Ackie and Steven Yeun, and will be released in North America on January 31, 2025.

The story follows an unlikely hero, Mickey Barnes (Pattinson), who finds himself in a highly unusual situation: to fulfill his employer's demands, he must continually die in order to survive.

Based on the new book by Edward Ashton, the film has been described as a mix of The Martian and Dark Matter. Mickey 17 is an expendable: a one-time employee of a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world of Niflheim. Whenever there’s a mission that’s dangerous enough—or even suicidal—to take, the team turns to Mickey. After one person dies repeatedly, a new body is reborn with most of his memories intact. After countless deaths, Mickey 17 finally understands the terms of his deal… and why this was the only vacant colony slot when he took over.
