The Newtons, two scientists, are killed in a conspiracy. Their son, Curtis, is raised by the three Future Men (Simon, Gragg, and Otto). As an adult, Curtis calls himself Captain Future and spends his days fighting evil as a champion of justice who protects peace in the solar system.

This is an animated version of a space opera written by American science fiction writer Edmond Hamilton. It was planned by NHK as the second anime series following "Future Boy Conan."
