■ Appeal and evaluation of the work

"Time Patrol Otasukeman" is a work that stands out among the Time Bokan series for its unique setting and story development. Below, we will explain in detail its appeal and evaluation.

The struggle over changing history

The greatest attraction of this series is the battle between the Time Patrol, who protect history, and Ojamaman, who tries to change it. A different historical figure or event appears in each episode, and comedy and action unfolds around that backdrop. For example, humorous settings such as Napoleon becoming the wine emperor and Beethoven composing his Tenth Symphony entertain viewers. Another funny point is the scene where the Ojamaman get scolded by Tonmanomatto every time their attempt to change history ends in failure.

Character Appeal

Each character in this series is unique and leaves a strong impression on viewers. In particular, the trio of Ojamamen, Atasha, Sekovich, and Dwarsky, are portrayed as villains but somehow lovable characters. Gekigasky, who joins the series midway through, is portrayed as a very handsome man, but is comically bossed around by Atasha and the others, eliciting laughter from viewers. Meanwhile, the righteous Otasukemen Hikaru and Nana are touching as they cooperate with each other without knowing each other's true identities, capturing the hearts of viewers. Additionally, the Kai Kai Dance of the Hinebottos is also very impressive as a visual gag.

Mechanic Design

The Time Bokan series' distinctive mechanical design is also expressed in this work by Kunio Okawara, who has created a unique worldview. The designs of Otasukeman's and Ojamaman's mecha are appealing, combining humor and functionality. Ojamaman's mecha in particular has a classic scene of exploding every time it fails, leaving a strong impact on viewers. Another highlight is the mecha design, which is based on a different historical event in each episode.

music

The music for this series was composed by Yamamoto Masayuki and Jinbo Masaaki, and is extremely memorable, including the theme song and insert songs. The opening theme, "Otasukeman's Song," in particular, is a song that resonates in the hearts of viewers, along with the singing voices of the Mizuumi Boys and Girls Choir. The ending themes, "Ah-u Ojamaman" and "Ganbare Ojamaman," are also popular as songs that symbolize the character of Ojamaman. These pieces of music are important elements that add to the atmosphere of the series.

■ Work evaluation and recommendation

"Time Patrol Otasukeman" is one of the most highly acclaimed works in the Time Bokan series. Here are some reasons why:

A balance of humor and action

This series has an excellent balance of humor and action. The battle over changing history creates a sense of tension, but there are also humorous scenes scattered throughout, so viewers won't get bored. In addition, the stories set in historical events and famous people in each episode broaden the viewer's knowledge while also providing laughter and emotion. This balance is one of the attractions of this series.

Character Development

The characters in this work grow as the story progresses. In particular, Ojamaman Atasha and his friends are villains who are instigated by Tonmanomanto and try to change history, but as the story progresses they begin to question their own actions. Hikaru and Nana also deepen their bond as they cooperate with each other without knowing each other's true identities. The growth of these characters moves the viewer.

Respect for history

This work is one that shows respect for history. Each episode features a different historical event or famous person, and the story unfolds around that setting. This allows viewers to deepen their interest in history. Also, the battle over changing history can remind viewers of the importance of history. This respect for history has earned this work high praise.
