Soon, a robot unit emerges from the mysterious object. The first investigation fleet organized by the Federation is annihilated. The Beast Fighter Squadron, without Shinobu, is ordered by the new commander Doyle to set out, but the Eagle Fighter takes off instead. Just as Sara and the others believed, Shinobu has returned. ■ Main Characters

In times of peace, Shinobu Fujiwara lost his place in the world and became a racer in underground gambling races. It seemed he had lost all his glory and goals in life, but the only thing he had left was the bond with his friends, which helped him shake off his doubts and return to the front lines.
Sara Yuki Perhaps inspired by her previous part-time job, she founded a fashion modeling company and devoted herself to her work as its president. Although she was once again moved by the sight of Shapiro's return, after fighting alongside him and hearing his soulful cry, she completely cuts off all attachment to him.
Masato Shikibu: He succeeded his late father as president of Shikibu Heavy Industries. He didn't seem to be very interested in his work, but when he was called up to return to the front lines, he ran out with glee. He fell in love with Marte, whom he helped in town, and was looking forward to a date at night, but...
While living a modest married life with Daniella, Shiba Ryo spends all his time training his mind and body in the mountains. He was the first to sense the evil energy caused by Dirad's appearance. He shows how much of a loving husband he is by never failing to contact Daniella, who he left behind at home.
Shapiro: The grudge of Shapiro, who fell before achieving his ambitions, was picked up by the wandering Dirad. His memory is incomplete, and he only has vague memories of Dancouga and Earth. When he recognizes Sara among the Beast Fighter Corps, some of his lost memories are revived, and he is troubled by the question of who he is.
Chief Doyle is the current chief of the Beast Fighter Corps. He once served under Ross Igor and inherited his teachings, so he has a strong military temperament. He is even more authoritarian than General Igor, which has often put him at odds with Dr. Hazuki.
・Diole
The Queen of Dirad awakens from a 200 million year slumber. Her will is the will of Dirad, and it can be said that she is the very core of Dirad. She arrived on Earth from the grudge of Shapiro that she picked up in space. She hopes that she will take root on Earth and create a world of only plants on that land.
A woman who was wandering around Malte Street and was saved by Masato. They fall in love at first sight and start dating, but in fact she has been implanted with a spore created by Dirad, and she has unconsciously been made to play the role of a vanguard to turn humans into plants. The only way to free her is to strike down Dirad's commands.
A Dirad executive who serves Aberdiore. He rebels against the newcomer Shapiro and calls for an all-out attack by all Dirad people. He attacks the Earth Federation's frontline base and annihilates it, but Director Doyle sacrifices his own life to self-destruct the base, and he is killed in space.
Like Abel, Keim is one of Diore's favorites. His loyalty to Diore is absolute, but at the same time, he has feelings for Shapiro that go beyond simple affection. It could be said that he was lucky that he didn't notice Shapiro was inside Dancouga.

■ Review

"Dancouga: The Final Chapter" was released as an OVA in 1989 and is considered the final chapter of the series. It tells the story of the Beast Forces who reunite to investigate a mysterious black object that suddenly appeared in space near Earth. For fans of the series, this was a long-awaited sequel and the final chapter, so there was no doubt high expectations.

The story begins with the Earth Federation calling in the Beast Fighter Squadron to investigate a mysterious object. Ryo, Sara, and Masato each live new lives, but Shinobu is missing. However, Shinobu returns in the Eagle Fighter, and the team reunites, moving viewers. Shinobu's return is particularly moving for fans of the series, as it will be hard to watch without crying.

The character development is also not to be missed. Shinobu lost his sense of place in the world during times of peace and became an underground racer for gambling races, but he reaffirmed his ties with his teammates and returned to the front lines. Sara founded a fashion modeling company and worked hard as its president, but although shaken by Shapiro's return, she ultimately gives up on her attachment to it. Masato became president of Shikibu Heavy Industries, but is shown to joyfully and courageously accept the call to return to the front lines. Ryo, while married to Daniela, senses the evil flow of Dirad's energy and throws himself into the fight. The growth and change of these characters deeply moves the viewers.

The characters on the enemy side are also fascinating. Diore is the Queen of Dirad who has woken up from a 200 million year slumber and is trying to create a world of only plants on Earth. Her will is the same as Dirad's will, and she is portrayed as a powerful enemy. Abel and Keim are executives who serve Diore, and their feelings of resentment and loyalty towards Shapiro are depicted. In particular, Shapiro's resurrection and his anguish add depth to the story.

The visuals are also impressive. Kazuko Tadano is in charge of character design and also works as chief animation director. The art director is Torao Arai, the sound director is Noriyoshi Matsuura, the cinematographer is Nobuyuki Sugaya, and the music is by Takeshi Ike and Osamu Totsuka. Thanks to the efforts of this staff, the work maintains a high level of quality. In particular, the intensity of the battle scenes and the beautiful background art have the power to draw the viewer in.

The music also adds to the appeal of the series. Takeshi Ike and Osamu Totsuka's music heightens the tension of the battle scenes and the emotion of the moving scenes. In particular, the Dancouga theme song has become a symbol of the series and is deeply etched in the hearts of viewers.

"Dancouga: The Final Chapter" is the final chapter of the series, and will provide viewers with excitement and emotion. The character growth and changes, the attractive enemy characters, and the high quality visuals and music combine to make this a fitting finale. This is a work that can be recommended not only to fans of the series, but also to those who like robot anime and science fiction anime.
