Fortune Quest: The Happiest Adventurers in the World STAGE 1 & 2 Review

Fortune Quest: The World's Happiest Adventurers STAGE 1 & 2 is an OVA based on the popular light novel by Misao Fukazawa, released between 1993 and 1994. This two-part series is a fascinating story that perfectly blends fantasy and comedy, and has a cast of unique characters.

First, let's talk about the story. While this work borrows the framework of so-called "other world fantasy," it is characterized by its humor and lightness that sets it apart from conventional fantasy works. Set in a world where adventurers create various adventure stories, unique characters such as Pastel, a mapper with a bad sense of direction, Clay, a fighter wearing bamboo armor, Trap, who is the best at running away, Rumi, an elf magician, Nol, a giant with great strength, and Kitton, who has a mini pocket monster encyclopedia, play an active role. In particular, the setting in which the group gets into debt for food at Inoshikatei and then takes on a part-time job carrying hot spring water from Healninto from Oshi, a scenario writer, not only provides laughs for the viewer, but also serves as a good opportunity to depict the characters' humanity and friendship.

Also, in the middle of the story, the old man and the boy who were about to be attacked by the monster Lizu are rescued, which symbolizes their courage and sense of justice and leaves a deep impression on the viewers. The unique enemies waiting in the dungeon, such as the dancing monster Rapbird and the shiny-loving Slimy Nura, also add to the charm of the work. And the encounters with new friends add depth to the story, providing the viewers with even more excitement and emotion.

Next, let's take a closer look at the characters. Pastel has a weakness of being directionally challenged, but he is a kind-hearted character who cares for his companions, making him easy for the viewer to relate to. Clay is a fighter who goes on a journey of training wearing bamboo armor, and his earnestness and hardworking attitude are appealing. Trap is a sarcastic person, but he also has the best speed of any character, which is an interesting contrast. Rumi is an elven child wizard, and his purity and growth move the viewer. Nol is a giant with superhuman strength, and his strength and kindness are impressive. Kitton is a character who possesses a mini pocket monster encyclopedia, and his knowledge and insight play an important role in moving the story forward. The way these characters support each other and grow moves and evokes empathy in the viewer.

I would also like to touch on the cast. Rumi Kasahara, who plays Pastel, carefully portrays the kind-hearted character of Pastel, leaving a deep impression on the viewers. Toshio Furukawa, who plays Trap, plays the sarcastic Trap realistically, conveying the contrast to the viewers. Nobutoshi Hayashi, who plays Clay, firmly portrays Clay, who is serious and hardworking, and makes the viewers feel his growth. Shinichiro Ota, who plays Kitton, skillfully plays Kitton, who has knowledge and insight, and plays an important role in advancing the story. Yasuhiko Kawazu, who plays Noru, powerfully plays Noru, who has strength and kindness, and conveys his presence to the viewers. Kumiko Nishihara, who plays Rumi, plays Rumi, who has purity and growth, in an adorable way, moving the viewers. Yumi Touma, who plays Shiro, carefully plays Shiro's character, leaving a deep impression on the viewers. The acting of these cast members brings out the charm of the characters to the fullest.

I would also like to mention the main staff. The original author, Fukazawa Misao, has created a unique worldview and a humorous story that leaves a strong impression on the viewers. The original character designer, Mukai Natsuo, has drawn the unique characters in an appealing way, leaving a deep impression on the viewers. The directors, Tsuruyama Osamu (STAGE1) and Yamaguchi Takeshi (STAGE2), have carefully directed the work to bring out the charm of the original work to the fullest. Tsuruyama Osamu (STAGE1) and Yamaguchi Takeshi (STAGE2) have also been in charge of the storyboards, making it a visually enjoyable work. The screenwriter, Maruo Keiko, has skillfully arranged the story of the original work, giving the viewers emotion and empathy. The character designer and animation director, Nakayama Yumi, has drawn the unique characters in an appealing way, leaving a deep impression on the viewers. The art director, Sue Nobuhito, has drawn the fantasy world realistically, leaving a deep impression on the viewers. The cinematographer, Takahashi Akihiko, has pursued the beauty of the images, leaving a deep impression on the viewers. Composer Anzai Fumitaka provides music that enhances the atmosphere of the work, leaving a deep impression on viewers. Animation production by JCSTAFF carefully produces animation that brings out the charm of the original work to the fullest. Production companies Kadokawa Shoten, Movic, Victor Entertainment Co., Ltd., and Fujifilm Axia are all working hard to improve the quality of the work. Releaser Victor Entertainment Co., Ltd. is working hard to get the work out to a wide audience. The efforts of these staff members are what are improving the quality of the work.

I would also like to touch upon the subtitles. STAGE 1, "Elekiter Panther," is an episode in which adventurers fight a monster called Elekiter Panther, and it excites and moves the audience. STAGE 2, "Hot Spring Water of Healninto," is an episode in which adventurers carry hot spring water from Healninto, and it moves and moves the audience. These subtitles add to the appeal of the work.

I would also like to touch on the theme songs and music. TM's "Fortune Quest: A Dream That Will Come True Someday" is a song that enhances the atmosphere of the work, with lyrics and composition by Fukazawa Mishio, composition and arrangement by Hagiwara Kenta, and vocals by Kasahara Rumi. In particular, Fukazawa Mishio's lyrics skillfully express the theme of the work, leaving a deep impression on the viewer. Hagiwara Kenta's composition and arrangement play an important role in enhancing the atmosphere of the work. Kasahara Rumi's vocals play an important role in enhancing the atmosphere of the work. These theme songs and music enhance the appeal of the work.
