Downey reveals how Kevin Feige persuaded him to return to the MCU to remake Hitchcock's Vertigo

Recently, Robert Downey Jr. accepted an exclusive interview with foreign media while doing the Emmy Awards public relations for the American TV series "The Sympathizer". During the interview, he revealed how Kevin Feige persuaded him to return to the MCU. He also said that he would remake Hitchcock's classic "Vertigo".

At the San Diego Comic-Con last month, Marvel announced that Downey will play the villain Doctor Doom in "Avengers 5" and "Avengers 6". Regarding this return, Downey said: "(Feige said) How can we not go back and live up to expectations, how can we continue to exceed expectations... Let's do Doctor Doom well."

Downey also feels that if he has to return to Marvel, it must be in a different form, and playing Doctor Doom is a good opportunity.

Talking about the HBO American TV series "The Sympathizer" in which he starred, Downey said that this performance was quite torturous because he had to play five different characters at the same time in the series, and there was even one episode in which three characters appeared at the same time.

In addition to returning to Marvel, he is currently performing in a stage play in New York. As for his future plans, he also said: "If all this (playing Doctor Doom) is over, we will remake this movie that many people think is the greatest movie of all time-Vertigo."
