8-year-old child was frightened, parents complained to "Alien": Official response: no responsibility

This Friday, "Alien: Revenge" was released simultaneously in mainland China and North America, which also ushered in a new wave of movie-watching.

Interestingly, an 8-year-old child felt unwell while watching the movie, and his parents asked the cinema to refund the ticket and compensate him. Later, a reporter asked several cinemas about the source of this complaint post.

However, the producer 20th Century Fox stated that when the film was officially announced as the Chinese release date of July 22, a reminder was already included (underage viewers should choose to watch with caution), and that this reminder was also given to viewers as soon as the film was released, so there is no question of taking responsibility.

Some bloggers also complained publicly that the movie clearly stated on the poster that "underage viewers should watch with caution", but there are still parents who bring their children to watch Alien: Taken Flight, mostly fathers. Don't these parents do their homework?

Ms. Shen, who has been engaged in the promotion of film aesthetics for a long time, told reporters: When choosing books and movies, parents should still learn about them first. The "Alien" series is an R-rated film, so it should be common sense that it is not suitable for children.

A reporter asked Miss Song who had just finished watching a movie at the Vientiane City Palace Cinema: "It was a little scary, but it was great. It's a big production. There were no underage viewers in our show. They were all young people. Anyone with a little knowledge of movies knows that the 'Alien' series is a horror film!"

Psychologists say that children watching horror movies usually experience negative emotions such as tension, anxiety, and fear, which may affect their mental health.

In addition, children's immunity is not fully developed. If they watch horror movies in their daily lives, it may cause their body resistance to decline and easily induce diseases. If children are scared because of watching horror movies, parents should promptly guide and comfort them.
