Recently, Xinhua News Agency quoted a set of survey data released by the Jiangsu Provincial Consumer Rights Protection Committee in a report: "Among the 1,026 parents of minors interviewed offline, more than 80% called for strict control of the scale of cartoons for minors, accounting for 80.7%." Among the 21 representative cartoons for minors selected for this survey, 10 contained many violent crime elements. The more common violent crime elements include armed beatings, multiple intimidation, arson and explosions in "Ultraman Tiga", and Bald Qiang in "Boonie Bears" often holding a shotgun or a chainsaw. After the above survey data and examples were exposed, many people agreed that the scale of cartoons for minors should be controlled. However, how to measure the scale of cartoons and what are the specific criteria for judgment have always been full of controversy. Take the fighting elements in cartoons as an example. If there can't be any fighting scenes in cartoons, then many people's childhood memories may become banned animations . Minors like lively scenes and are curious, which is also their nature. From the 80s to the 00s, fighting scenes can be seen in many classic animations, whether domestic or foreign animations, not to mention that the main element of classic domestic and foreign animations such as "Havoc in Heaven", "Calabash Brothers", "Dragon Ball", and "Saint Seiya" is "fighting". If any animation with fighting scenes is "one size fits all" denied, it would be too arbitrary and probably contrary to public opinion. Therefore, it is necessary to have clear standards to control the scale of cartoons for minors , so as to neither "let go" of problematic animations nor "accidentally harm" excellent animation works. Taking fighting elements as an example, we can learn from foreign animation rating systems and classify them according to the different age groups of the audience. For example, criminal plots such as arson and explosions, especially shots of holding terrorist weapons (such as chainsaws), and some content with obvious bloody elements should be avoided in animations for young children. Even cartoons produced abroad have begun to pay attention to related issues in recent years. For example, in the classic Japanese cartoon "Dragon Ball" series, which has a huge impact on the world, there are still a lot of bloody scenes in the early "Dragon Ball Z" cartoons. In the new work "Dragon Ball Super" in recent years, although there are still many battle scenes, there are basically no bloody scenes. When some characters spit blood, there is no blood in the picture, or saliva is used instead. This relatively gentle treatment reflects a trend in current animation creation: avoiding excessive bloody or inhumane scenes. Even if the story told by the animation is "fierce fighting", the pictures presented to the audience are not violent, let alone scary. Undoubtedly, every cartoon should follow a scale that is acceptable to society and conducive to the healthy growth of minors. A good scale setting should prevent the animation works from containing harmful information that harms minors, and should not weaken their expressiveness due to "excessive restrictions". In order to grasp this scale, it requires careful consideration by animation practitioners and observers. |
