Marvel introduces first LGBTQ Captain America comic book character

In honor of Pride Month in June, Marvel will introduce a new Captain America who is a gay teenager. June is designated as a month of global gay celebration in the United States and has become part of the gay rights movement. This new Captain America is also the first gay Captain America introduced by Marvel.

The gay Captain America will appear in the comic book "The United States Of Captain America" to be launched in June. The comic is written by Cantwell and Josh Trujillo, telling the story of this "fearless boy" who stands up to protect exiles and homeless people. Trujillo revealed that the captain was inspired by the gay community. He was encouraged by the people in the queer community around him and worked hard to make himself a character who speaks for "the oppressed and forgotten marginalized people."
