Oscar-winning foreign language film "Departures" confirmed to be introduced to China, release date to be determined

Directed by Yojiro Takita and starring Masahiro Motoki, Ryoko Hirosue, Tsutomu Yamazaki, etc., "Departures" has been confirmed to be introduced to the Chinese mainland, with the release date to be determined. At the same time, the domestic release poster and 4K restored version stills were announced. The film was released in Japan in 2008 and won 10 awards at the Japan Academy Awards and the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. According to the film company, the 4K restored version of "Departures" will be released in the mainland this time.

"Departures" is adapted from the novel "Coffin Man's Diary" by Japanese writer Aoki Shinmon. The film tells the life of a Japanese undertaker. The film observes various kinds of death from the perspective of a novice undertaker and gazes at the loving people surrounding the deceased.
