Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige, who is currently working on a Star Wars movie project, doesn't think the Star Wars and Marvel universes will intersect anytime soon. Feige has been involved in the production of every Marvel movie since Iron Man opened the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) in 2008, and he is currently working with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy to produce the Star Wars movie. Therefore, many fans of both sides naturally want to know whether Star Wars will intersect with the MCU. But in an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Feige's idea poured cold water on fans who expected the two sides to cooperate. "If you asked me if anything we're talking about now could have happened 20 years ago, I would say, 'I don't think so,'" Cage said. "But I really don't think so. ... I don't think there's any reason why." While the possibility of Marvel and Star Wars movies intersecting seems far off, the two series have already intersected in Marvel comics. In addition to the Star Wars comics published by Marvel, the popular Star Wars villain Darth Vader made a series of appearances in the 2019 Special Marvel Comics #1000, which was quite a surprise. So, while Feige seems to have temporarily ruled out such an event in the movie, at least there is some precedent in the comics world. |
