A famous animation director reported FGO factory for violating the contract law and withholding payment

According to Japanese media reports on the evening of January 29, Signal-MD, a well-known studio that produced the FGO animation series, was reported to the Japan Fair Trade Commission by the well-known animation director Hisahiro Kusaka for violating Japan's contracting law and withholding remuneration. Let's take a look.

· Hisahito Shiro (55 years old) is a senior animator and director in the Japanese animation industry. He has participated in the production of animation works such as "Lupin the Third", "Pokemon", and "Yo-kai Watch". Recently, he reported the studio "Signal-MD" by real name for maliciously violating Japan's contracting law and withholding wages.

In November 2019, Hisahiro Kugao was commissioned by Signal-MD to serve as the animation director of a famous animation. It was verbally agreed that the remuneration for 30 minutes of animation was 360,000 yen, and the first deposit of 180,000 yen had been received. However, despite repeated reminders, Signal-MD has not paid the remaining remuneration.

The key point of the problem is that although the Japanese animation industry has the traditional practice of "oral contracts", such blatant breach of contract and refusal to pay are rare. It is estimated that it will be fruitless for Hisataka Shiro to ask for salary, so he can only report and complain that "Signal-MD" violated Article 3, Paragraph 1 of the Japanese Contract Law, which stipulates that Party A, the principal, has the obligation to provide Party B, the principal, with a written contract.

After the incident fermented and aroused social concern, IG Port, the parent company of "Signal-MD", responded that it would further improve the company's business rules and regulations and enforce laws and regulations in the future.
