The fourth season of The Boys has come to an end, and the series is about to enter its final chapter. At the San Diego Comic-Con, Amazon revealed that although The Boys is about to end, a prequel series set in the distant past will be released soon. Eric Kripke, showrunner for The Boys, invited actor Jensen Ackles to the stage during the panel to announce the prequel series Vought Rising. Set in the 1950s, the series will follow the lives of Ackles' soldier Boy and female hero Storm, two of the first and most powerful superheroes of the superhero company Vought. In the latest press announcement, Kripke described the series as a "twisted murder mystery" that will delve into how Vought became the evil mega-corporation it is today, in addition to being "soaked in blood and Compound V." Paul Grellong will run the show and executive produce it. The show has not yet confirmed a scheduled airing date. |
