Netflix's new original series "Sanctuary" publicly focuses on Japanese professional sumo wrestling

Netflix's new original drama "SANCTUARY", based on Japanese sumo, was announced to be produced today on December 7. It will be directed by KAN Eguchi, the director of the "Hitman Fable" series, and starred by Wataru Ichinose and Shota Sometani.

· "SANCTUARY" tells the story of the joys and sorrows of several young sumo wrestlers in their quest to enter the "Dohyo", the sacred place of the sumo world, and shows the daily lives of sumo wrestlers that are unknown to outsiders.

"SANCTUARY" will be starred by former professional fighter Ichinose Wataru. Shota Sometani, Yuki Koyuki, Pierre Taki and others have already been confirmed to join the cast. More detailed information about the show will be released soon, so stay tuned.
