The director of the famous AI film "Psycho-Pass" talks about AI: AI cannot be created out of nothing

AI is now very popular, and people seem to have overestimated its capabilities. Recently, Japanese media interviewed the director of the latest animated film of the famous AI masterpiece "Psycho-Pass" Naoyoshi Shioya and talked about AI. He said that AI cannot create something out of nothing, so everyone should keep their feet on the ground.

The new theatrical animated film "PSYCHO-PASS PROVIDENCE: THEATRE" based on the classic sci-fi animation masterpiece "Psycho-Pass" was just released on May 12. The film was produced by Production IG and directed by Naoyoshi Shiotani. It is currently in theaters.

In "Psycho-Pass", AI is used to calculate and predict human thoughts, personality, etc., so as to determine whether someone has criminal tendencies and take early action to control them.

Shioya Naoyoshi is obviously not too impressed by the current AI boom. He is more objective and says, "AI will not create 1 from 0. Although (unlike AI, humans) spend a lot of time thinking and imagining, it is very important. In order to seek fun, we also need to keep thinking. Only in this way can humans live more like humans."
