Warner Bros.' new version of "Twister" broke the record and debuted at No. 1 in North America with $80.5 million in its first weekend

The new version of "Twisters" starring Glen Powell had a great start, taking in $80.5 million in the North American box office in its first weekend and becoming the champion. This is the highest-grossing disaster film in history and the second highest-grossing live-action film this year, only $2 million less than the Oscar-winning "Oppenheimer."

Warner Bros.' new version of "Twister" broke the record, with a production cost of $200 million, and its performance once again exceeded industry expectations!

The film surpassed the opening weekend of The Day After Tomorrow in 2004 with $68.74 million, setting a record for the highest opening weekend box office for disaster films in North American film history! It also created the third highest opening weekend box office in North America this year! Second only to the opening weekend of Inside Out 2 with $154 million and Dune 2 with $82.505 million!

The new version of "Twister" earned $27.1 million in its second weekend overseas, a total of 42.7 million, and a total global box office of $123.2 million! It suffered a Waterloo in mainland China, earning only $1.55 million/11.29 million in its first weekend.
