Hayao Miyazaki's "Ponyo on the Cliff" confirmed to be introduced to the mainland, the specific date is yet to be determined

Following "My Neighbor Totoro" in 2018 and "Spirited Away" in 2019, another action movie directed by Hayao Miyazaki has been confirmed to be released in mainland China. This time, it is "Ponyo on the Cliff" (previously everyone called it "Ponyo on the Cliff", and the translation of the theatrical version is slightly different).

"Ponyo on the Cliff" is a feature-length animated film produced by Studio Ghibli, directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki, and voiced by Yuria Nara, Tomoko Yamaguchi, and Kazushige Nagashima. It premiered in Japan on July 19, 2008. The film tells the story of Ponyo, a mermaid who wants to become a human in the deep sea, and Sosuke, a human boy.

Ponyo on the Cliff is a purely hand-painted film, with more than 170,000 hand-painted manuscripts, making it the film with the largest number of drawings by Hayao Miyazaki. It won the Japanese box office champion in 2008. The domestic release date of the film is yet to be confirmed.
