"Snape" actor's diary published before his death records the behind-the-scenes of "Harry Potter"

The diary of Alan Rickman, the actor who played "Snape" in the "Harry Potter" film series, will be compiled into a book titled "The Diary of Alan Rickman", which will be released by Canongate in the fall of 2022.

Foreign media said that the work will select his 27 volumes of diaries written over 25 years into a book. Rickman started writing these with the intention of publishing in the early 1990s until his death in 2016. He recorded his life and work, including his insights and political views on acting and friendship, as well as comments on drama works and the behind-the-scenes stories of "Harry Potter". The editor of the book, Alan Taylor, described his texts as "full of anecdotes, outspoken, humorous and very frank".

Rickman's widow Rima Horton expressed her happiness, saying that the book will show Rickman's true self, "his sense of humor, his keen observation, his skills and his love of art", not just as an actor.
