The launch ceremony of the "Intelligent Ultra HD Joint Project" jointly launched by Baidu and the Movie Channel was held recently. Intelligent Ultra HD has four major features: intelligent encoding, sensory enhancement, super resolution, and high definition . The Intelligent Ultra HD solution can significantly improve the picture quality without increasing the video bandwidth cost by performing multi-dimensional processing on the image quality.

It is reported that the two parties will jointly create an intelligent ultra-clear solution, carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of technology output and copyright, improve the work efficiency of radio and television media and video producers by providing a wealth of product tools, and enhance users' video experience by providing clearer and more gorgeous picture quality.

According to Wei Xiaoling, director of the technical department of the Film Channel, traditional film restoration is a huge project that mainly relies on computers and manual methods. Because machine restoration has many limitations, it is easy to lose some effective information, and often requires manual cooperation and fine-tuning. This results in very high labor and time costs for restoration. Wei Xiaoling said that she hopes to use AI restoration technology to free the staff from this boring and tedious manual restoration, and also hopes to jointly develop software and hardware based on AI technology restoration to change the current situation in China where it mainly relies on imports in this regard.
