Hollywood to film Wuhan epidemic movie to be shot in China, title to be determined

According to reports from multiple foreign media outlets including The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, and The Wrap, Charles Randolph, who has written screenplays for films such as "The Big Short" and "Breaking News," is about to write and direct an untitled film about the Wuhan epidemic for SK Global ("Crazy Rich Asians" and "Hell or High Water"), currently called the "Untitled Wuhan Project."

This film will also be Charles' directorial debut, focusing on the city in the early days of the epidemic, where the heroic medical team faced a mysterious virus that later became a global epidemic. It will tell the story of "during that thrilling time, China's heroic medical team encountered a mysterious virus."

Charles said, "I am very happy to cooperate with the film company SK Global. The deeper we dig, the richer the story of Wuhan will be. Fighting monsters is one thing, fighting monsters in the dark is another." Charles will also serve as screenwriter and producer, and SK Global will produce. The film will be shot in China, using crews in and outside China, and will also go to other places around the world.
