The weapon on the set was fired accidentally with live ammunition, and the photographer was killed. The manslaughter lawsuit of the famous actor has been dismissed

Famous American actor Alec Baldwin was charged with manslaughter in 2021 when a prop gun loaded with real bullets shot and killed the film's photographer Halina Hutchins on the set of the movie "Rust". Just on Friday local time, a judge in New Mexico dismissed the lawsuit against him.

The relieved actor blinked back tears as Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer announced that the "motion to dismiss with no further proceedings is granted."

He then hugged his wife and cried, while his brother and sister listened attentively to the judge's verdict. Because the lawsuit was an open court, this scene was broadcast on television for everyone to see.

The lawsuit was dismissed due to newly “hidden” evidence submitted by Baldwin’s attorney the night before.

Halina Hutchins' husband, Matthew Hutchins, was not happy with the verdict, and his lawyers made it clear that while they respected the court's decision, they did not agree with it, and that they would still take action against Baldwin to "hold" him accountable.

Previously, the film's weapons prop master Hannah Gutierrez-Reed had been convicted of manslaughter and was serving an 18-month prison sentence.
