Official clarification: Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 The End will not be 6 hours long

The latest work in the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" series, "Neon Genesis Evangelion: 3.0+1.0", was originally scheduled to be released on June 27, but had to be postponed due to the impact of the new coronavirus.

Recently, the official Twitter account released a cover of the original plan for "Evangelion" in 1993. There is also a sample screen of "Neon Genesis Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 The End" segment D (the last segment), and above the screen, the words "05:59:50:00" appeared, so many fans speculated whether this theatrical version would be as long as 6 hours.

In response to such doubts, the official issued a statement on October 7. The official said that the length of "New EVA" will definitely not be as long as 6 hours, so fans can rest assured.

Animation productions are usually divided into different "reels". Reels are divided by time code, that is, the first hour (01:00:00:00) is "Reel 1", and "02:00:00:00" is "Reel 2". This does not mean that each reel is one hour.
