Zhang Yimou's new film "The Coldest Gun" is adapted from the Chinese Sniper King

On October 7, it was announced that director Zhang Yimou's new film "The Coldest Gun" was successfully approved. The film tells the story of Zhang Dagong, a sniper of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, who fought against the US military during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and eventually defeated his opponent. It is reported that the prototype of the protagonist of the film is Zhang Taofang, a volunteer soldier in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

Zhang Taofang (1931-October 29, 2007), born in Xinghua City, Jiangsu Province, was a Chinese soldier, sniper, pilot, and the king of Chinese snipers. He joined the Chinese People's Volunteer Army in March 1951. During the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, he reportedly set a record of killing or wounding 214 U.S. enemies at Hill 537.

The film is produced by Lifeng Culture, directed by Zhang Yimou and written by Chen Yu.
