"X-Men: New Mutants" is going to revive its glory! Young Professor X joins

Although the "X-Men: Apocalypse" released last year suffered a "Waterloo" and failed in both word of mouth and box office, Fox Films does not intend to give up such a classic movie IP. Its derivative new work "The New Mutants" will officially start shooting in May this year, shouldering the important task of reviving the glory of "X-Men". Recently, the media broke the news that young "Professor X" James McAvoy may join this work!

"The New Mutants" will be directed by Josh Boone, the director of the youth romance film "The Fault in Our Stars", and is expected to be developed into a new "X-Men" film series starring Professor X, Wolfsbane, Mysterio, Sunspot, Mirage, Vision, and Cannonball.

Can The New Mutants revive the X-Men?

Anya Taylor-Joy, who is expected to play the mutant Mysterio, revealed in a recent interview that James McAvoy has joined The New Mutants and will reprise his role as the young Professor X in X-Men, responsible for training the new generation of X-Men. The thriller Split, in which Anya Taylor-Joy and James McAvoy are working together, is currently in the promotional stage.

In addition to the above two filmmakers, Maisie Williams, who played Arya in Game of Thrones, may join the film to play Wolfsbane, and Alexandra Shipp, who played Storm in X-Men: Apocalypse, is also expected to return. The film will start shooting in Montreal, Canada in May this year and is expected to be released in 2018.
