"Eight Hundred" topped the global box office in 2020 with a cumulative box office of nearly 3 billion

Recently, the official Weibo account of the movie "Eight Hundred" announced that the film topped the global box office champion in 2020, with a cumulative box office of 2.883 billion yuan and a cumulative number of viewers of 75.37 million. This is the first time that a Chinese-language film has won the global box office champion.

According to Box Office Mojo data, Bad Boys for Life grossed $425 million worldwide, while The Eight Hundred grossed about $426 million. The Eight Hundred surpassed Bad Boys for Life in the mainland alone, becoming the 2020 global box office champion!

"Eight Hundred" is directed by Guan Hu and stars Wang Qianyuan, Zhang Yi, Jiang Wu, Huang Zhizhong, Zhang Junyi, Ou Hao, Du Chun, Wei Chen, Zhang Youhao, Tang Yixin, etc. After its official release in mainland China on August 21, it has received great reviews from the audience and achieved great box office results. The release date of the film has been extended to October 21, 2020, and the box office is expected to continue to grow.

The UK distribution rights for "The Eight Hundred" have been acquired by Trinity Cine Asia and it will be released on September 16 in 2D and IMAX versions.
