Robert Downey Jr. confirms farewell to Marvel movies and will not play Iron Man again

According to media reports today (September 2), actor Robert Downey Jr. confirmed on the SmartLess podcast that he has bid farewell to Marvel movies and will no longer play Iron Man.

When asked how he balances his family and time spent on Marvel movies after the death of his character Iron Man in Avengers 4, "Is the Marvel thing slowing down for you, or is it over?" Robert Downey Jr. replied: "Yes, that's all done."

Downey probably meant that he would not appear again, but previously the media revealed that there was a "new" shot of Iron Man in the new Marvel movie "Black Widow". Some people speculated that this shot was not used in the main film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it was not a new shot, but a deleted clip from "Captain America 3".

It is reported that since the release of the movie "Iron Man" in 2008, Robert Downey Jr. has participated in Marvel movies as "Iron Man", including three "Iron Man", four "Avengers", "Captain America 3: Civil War" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming", a total of 9 movies.
