Newspaper boss JK Simmons signs Spider-Man deal with Sony

In the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which was released last summer, in addition to the blockbuster video of Mysterio, the appearance of J.K. Simmons also surprised fans. In Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man series, he played Peter Parker's boss, Jonah Jameson, editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle. His slightly exaggerated acting skills and rapid-fire lines were impressive.

Simmons recently told foreign media that he has signed several Spider-Man movie agreements with Sony, but did not reveal which movie he will appear in next. When asked if he is looking forward to working with Tom Holland, he said: "I don't know if the word 'looking forward' is appropriate, but I feel it's a good opportunity for the characters in the old trilogy to continue into the current Spider-Man universe."

"Spider-Man: Homecoming 3", directed by Joe Watts and starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, was originally scheduled to start shooting in Atlanta, USA in July this year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the shooting was delayed and is tentatively scheduled to be released on November 5, 2021.

J. Jonah Jameson is the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle. He hates Spider-Man very much, thinks he is a criminal, and has been discrediting him in news about Spider-Man. However, Jameson does not know that the photographer he hired, Peter Parker, is the true identity of Spider-Man.

In the 2009 storyline, Jameson becomes the mayor of New York City and forms the Anti-Spider Squad to capture Spider-Man.

In addition to playing the character in the Spider-Man trilogy, J.K. Simmons also voiced the character in several animated films.
