HBO's 'House of the Dragon' executive producer quits show before filming begins for Season 2

According to DEADLINE’s exclusive report, HBO’s “House of the Dragon” series has undergone another change in the executive production team. Jocelyn Diaz will not return to the “Game of Thrones” sequel, which has been confirmed to be renewed for Season 2. Sources said that she had a one-year contract with an option to stay for Season 2, and she eventually chose to leave.

Previously, co-producer Miguel Spochinik resigned after serving as co-producer of Season 1, and another executive producer Ron Schimidt also quietly withdrew from the crew not long ago. Currently, co-producer/executive producer Ryan Condal has become the sole producer of the first season.

So far, House of the Dragon Season 2 has added a new executive producer. Alan Taylor, who previously worked on the Game of Thrones series, has joined the cast as an executive producer and director. Subochnik will remain an executive producer for Season 2.
