Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie in early production, cast still undecided

According to Variety, a sequel to the movie "Sonic the Hedgehog" directed by Jeff Fowler and written by Patrick Casey and Josh Miller is in production. It has been confirmed to be distributed by Paramount Pictures and is adapted from the "Sonic the Hedgehog" series produced by Sega.

A few hours ago, Jeff Fowler confirmed the news via Twitter.

Variety magazine also stated that "the film is still in the early stages of production, so the cast and start date have not yet been determined." "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" will star Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, voiced by Ben Schwartz.
