Recently, Hideo Kojima tweeted praises for the Disney+ Korean drama "The Superpowers", and even said that he watched the last three episodes while crying.

In just 4 days, I finished watching the Korean drama "Superpowers" (all 20 episodes) on Disney+. I have to say, it's amazing! It's so good! I cried all the way through the last 3 episodes. It's very rare that an action scene can make me cry like this.

At first I thought it was a school love comedy, but it turned into a full-blown spy story spanning two generations, parents and children, and the pace of each episode is steadily accelerating. Youth, first love, friendship, love, family, spy wars, betrayal, superpowers, secret missions, battles, action, violence, romance, humor, and even the heart-warming scenes unique to Korean dramas, this drama can be said to have gathered all the entertainment elements. Moreover, all the characters in the drama (including every villain) are very charming. Each character's experience, sadness, growth and relief are portrayed very delicately. The finale is even more happy, with the past and present, all the clues and foreshadowings intertwined perfectly. The theme of the old generation passing the "torch" to the new generation is also very good.

Actress Ko Yoon-jung, who plays the 10-year-old high school student Hee-soo, also performed very well! Although the other actors are also good, her charm and presence are definitely unique. I have already watched "Hunter" starring her, and will go to watch her other works later. The screenwriter Kang Cho is also a genius.

After watching this drama, I fell into a deep sense of loss. In order to make up for the regret, I have ordered the Korean version of the Blu-ray BOX and plan to watch it again, and this time I will eat "big pork chops" while watching it!

Plot Synopsis

The drama is adapted from the comic of the same name by Kang Cho. Kim Bong-seok (Lee Jung-ha), who has been able to float in the air since he was a child, always carries a heavy schoolbag to school in order to avoid being discovered by others. One day, he met a transfer student, Jang Hee-soo (Go Yoon-jeong), and the two quickly became good friends after exchanging secrets with each other, but they also gradually discovered that the high school they attended was a little unusual. In the school, it seems that many students have hidden their superpowers, and their parents seem to have some secrets that cannot be told.

At the same time, some bizarre murders occurred in downtown Seoul, South Korea. In order to protect his loved ones, the superpowers who had been hiding in the crowd decided to stand up and face the approaching danger.
