With the development of economy, people are more eager for a rich spiritual life, so TV variety shows are born in line with the trend of the times. Nowadays, TV variety shows have been widely infiltrated into people's daily life, subtly influencing the audience. However, variety shows are booming nowadays, with a wide variety of types, and it seems to be a good thing, but there are also many serious problems. Without talking about the specific content, just looking at the name of the variety show, you can feel that many programs have the problem of homogeneity, and the copyright issue of the program is also criticized by the audience. There are only a handful of truly high-quality variety shows. Looking at the current situation of Chinese TV variety shows, there are several problems: 1. Serious plagiarism and cloning of programs According to relevant statistics, Korean variety shows are the main targets of plagiarism in domestic programs. According to an article published in the Korean JoongAng Ilbo in 2018, China has plagiarized as many as 34 Korean variety shows over the years. tvN's "Yin Restaurant" was plagiarized into "Chinese Restaurant" (Hunan Satellite TV), and "Three Meals a Day" became "Longing for Life" (Hunan Satellite TV). The most well-known of them is that "Idol Producer" plagiarized South Korea's "Produce 101". The former was named by the International Program Model Protection Association (FRAPA) and was determined to plagiarize the latter with a similarity of 88 points. 2. Serious homogeneity Voice talent shows have always been popular among domestic variety shows, but in 2014, there were five shows in the same time period: Zhejiang Satellite TV's "The Voice of China", Dragon TV's "The Voice of China", Shandong Satellite TV's "The Voice of Nature", Hunan Satellite TV's "Happy Boys" and "The Voice of China". The most embarrassing thing is that many familiar faces even appear in multiple shows, which will only consume the audience's freshness for such shows in the long run. 3. Poor program performance This includes the fact that the actors participating in the show are rather restrained and the show effects lack creativity. Currently, most of the artists participating in variety shows in China are actors or singers. There is a serious lack of professional comedians, talk show actors and other groups that bring their own jokes. They rely more on editing and post-production special effects to deliberately create conflicts and jokes, resulting in poor show effects. In terms of program format and content, there is no more innovation. Although some domestic variety shows, especially reality shows, are introduced by purchasing the copyrights of popular overseas programs, they are inseparable from certain routines in terms of program creativity, production standards and content design, and lack localization thinking. With the development of the times, TV entertainment programs have been gradually developed, valued and amplified. Entertainment programs have become the second largest audience focus after news programs. my country's TV entertainment programs should overcome the above problems and develop in a healthy and benign direction. For this purpose, the country has also issued corresponding policies. The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television announced the detailed rules for online variety shows On February 21, in accordance with the work deployment of the State Administration of Radio and Television, under the guidance of the Administration's Network Audiovisual Program Management Department, the China Network Audiovisual Program Service Association jointly with CCTV.com, Mango TV, Tencent Video, Youku, iQiyi, Sohu, Bilibili, Xigua Video, Kuaishou, Miaopai and other audio-visual program websites formulated the "Standards and Rules for Content Review of Online Variety Shows." The creators and on-screen personnel of variety shows shall not select artists who have caused adverse social impacts due to scandals, crimes, etc.; and there shall be no improper selection of foreign nationals or people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The styling, props, and stage design of variety shows shall not pose safety hazards; and on-screen personnel shall not wear clothes that are not necessary for the show scene or content and deliberately show sexiness or sexual appeal. The production and packaging of variety shows shall not hype topics with popular artists and production funds, and carry out excessive marketing and exaggerated publicity. In talent shows and idol development programs, there shall be no "spending money to buy votes" link, which deliberately guides and encourages netizens to vote and help contestants through material means such as shopping and membership. When introducing or evaluating contestants and program participants, hosts and guests shall not use insulting or discriminatory language, or language that insults and discriminates against a specific group; and minors shall not participate in talent shows. In addition, in response to the issue of emotional dating programs, the "Detailed Rules" stipulate that they must not promote materialism, extravagance, and hedonism; they must not use marriage and dating, or emotional tests as a cover to conduct various human tests on program participants and expose human weaknesses. In children's parent-child programs, children must not be exposed in their clothing or imitate certain adult outfits, which is not conducive to their physical and mental health; they must not focus on showing off wealth, hedonism, and other values that are not conducive to the physical and mental health of minors; programs for minors must not promote the child star effect or package and hype the children of celebrities. In response to the issue of game competition programs, the "Detailed Rules" require that for games with safety hazards, there must be safety guidance or safety tips in the setting of the competition links; they must not artificially intensify conflicts or deliberately create vulgar gimmicks. In addition, in response to issues such as water injection in TV series and online dramas and excessive actor pay, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) recently issued a notice requiring that from the issuance of the notice, TV series and online dramas should not exceed 40 episodes in principle, and actor pay should not exceed 40% of the total cost. In addition, in response to issues such as water injection in content and artificially lengthening the number of episodes, SARFT advocates that TV series and online dramas should not exceed 40 episodes, and encourages the creation of short dramas of less than 30 episodes. Regarding the issue of actor pay, SARFT stated that the total pay of all actors in each TV series and online drama should not exceed 40% of the production cost, and the pay of the main actors should not exceed 70% of the total pay. Summarize Whether it is the TV drama production industry or the variety show production industry, it really needs to be done with heart and soul. Behind a variety show is the result of the collision of many people's creativity. TV dramas should not immediately follow up on which theme is popular, and variety shows are definitely not a stage for watching celebrities laugh under a unified model. After years of being influenced by excellent programs at home and abroad, the audience has also developed certain aesthetics and judgment standards. The way of using celebrities to create topics to attract audiences will become less and less feasible. I hope that after the detailed rules of the State Administration of Radio and Television are released, it will lead Chinese TV content to develop in a healthier and more diverse direction. |
