Nicolas Cage's new film will be released in North America on March 19 next year. He plays himself.

Today (February 4), Lionsgate announced that the film "The Unbearable Weight of Genius", starring Nicolas Cage, will be released in North America on March 19, 2021.

Cage will play an actor named Nicolas Cage in the film (playing himself), and the film also reflects his own experience, telling the story of how he used to be arrogant and willful, and continued to take bad movies to pay off his debts and became box office poison. Now he is no longer a big star, and he is desperately trying to get a role in the new film directed by Quentin Tarantino, and his relationship with his teenage daughter is becoming increasingly estranged. He also talks to a fantasy 1990s self from time to time. That younger self would complain that he has made too many bad movies now, and he is no longer a big star.

Because he owed a large amount of debt, he was forced to appear at the birthday party of a Mexican billionaire. Unfortunately, the billionaire was a drug lord and kidnapped the daughter of a politician. Cage's ex-wife and daughter were also in danger. The CIA therefore recruited Cage in the hope of obtaining intelligence from him.

"The Unbearable Weight of Genius" reflects the real Cage and pays tribute to many of Cage's films, such as "Face/Off", "Leaving Las Vegas", "Gone in 60 Seconds", "Matchstick Men", etc. There are also shadows of Cage's old work "Adaptation" and many actors playing their own film projects.
