James Wan directs dark reboot of classic horror comedy The Munsters

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the classic horror-comedy The Munsters, which actually had higher ratings than the hit Wednesdays original series, The Addams Family. But despite multiple attempts to reboot it since it went off the air in 1966, The Munsters has never been able to find success again.

According to Deadline, Aquaman director James Wan will be at the helm of the latest reboot of this classic film and television work. He will return to his old horror movie and work with two other people to produce a dark reboot of The Munsters for global business. The new series is currently called "1313", named after the house number where the Munsters live. Lindsey Anderson Beer will be the main creator of the series. Her latest work is the horror film "Pet Sematary: Blood Origin" adapted from Stephen King's work.

The Munsters, also known as The Family of Freaks, is a family consisting of the male protagonist Herman Munster, a Frankenstein-like monster, his vampire wife Lily Munster, his son Eddie, and Lily's father Dracula. The show was popular when it was broadcast, but the subsequent reboots in 2012 and 2022 failed to gain good reputation.
