"Deadpool and Wolverine" has the highest annual pre-sale in North America and may break the pre-sale record of R-rated films

After the pre-sale of "Deadpool vs. Wolverine" started, Adam Allen, CEO of AMC, the largest theater chain in North America, said on social media that 200,000 tickets were sold on the first day of the theater alone. In addition, the online ticket seller Fandango said that the pre-sale of this film is not only the best performing one in 2024, but also the best performing one in the series and the best performing one among R-rated movies.

AMC and Fandango have not yet provided accurate pre-sale figures, and distributor Disney has not released data either. The data obtained by The Hollywood Reporter from an informed source was that the first-day pre-sale figures were between $8 million and $9 million.

In 2016, "Deadpool" grossed $47.33 million on its first day and $132 million on its opening day.

In 2018, "Deadpool 2" grossed $53.03 million on its first day and $125 million at the box office.
