"Love Apartment 5" officially apologizes for allegedly plagiarizing Lao Fanqie's painting

Recently, some netizens questioned that the painting displayed by Mei Jia in the 8th episode of "Love Apartment 5" was very similar to the painting of "Lao Fanqie", a well-known UP host on B station, and was suspected of plagiarism. Tonight, the official Weibo account of "Love Apartment 5" released an "apology letter" from the crew and director Wei Zheng. The official explained that this incident was caused by poor supervision and expressed deep apologies for this. At the same time, the relevant paragraphs were also corrected, and the updated clips were launched tonight.

Apology:

"Love Apartment 5" was launched on January 12, 2020. On January 13, we received comments from netizens about the 39:20 hand-painted draft in the 8th episode "If You Have Something to Say, Say It Well" being similar to the work of the UP host "Lao Fanqie". On the same day, we immediately checked the matter within the crew and confirmed that this error was caused by poor supervision. We mistakenly used Lao Fanqie's painting as a reference picture, resulting in the final prop drawing being similar. We deeply apologize for this!

We immediately tried to contact Mr. Lao Fanqie and his team through various channels. Out of respect for Mr. Lao Fanqie, we have corrected the relevant paragraphs overnight, and the corrected clips have been released tonight. Here, we express our deepest apologies to Mr. Lao Fanqie! We also thank the majority of netizens for their supervision and corrections!
