Today (January 15), the famous game producer Hideo Kojima posted three tweets in a row to talk about his feelings about revisiting the three "Mobile Suit Gundam" theatrical versions from the 1980s. These three parts are "Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam Stands on Earth" (1981), "Mobile Suit Gundam: Sorrow Warrior" (1981) and "Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounter in Space" (1982). Hideo Kojima wrote on Twitter: I rewatched the 3rd Mobile Suit Gundam movie. 40 years ago, when I was in high school, I watched the 1979 TV version of Gundam, but rewatching the 3rd Mobile Suit Gundam movie made me confirm once again that it is not just a robot animation, but a masterpiece of war movies. Hideo Kojima went on to write: The trilogy captures the details of war from different perspectives: the Earth Federation Army & Zeon, soldiers & civilians, new and old Gundam pilots. The film contains conflict and fatigue, love and loss. It sincerely portrays those who have been changed by the battlefield and calls for justice and morality. Yamato interprets love on the battlefield, and Gundam sings sadness. When I was in high school, I had to go to cram school in the afternoon. Every afternoon before class, I would watch cartoons for 5 years. Once, after "Invincible Steel Man Titanfall 3" was over, a trailer for "Mobile Suit Gundam" was broadcast. I was so happy when I saw the battle suit of Mobile Suit Gundam. That feeling only appeared again when I read Heinlein's "Starship Troopers" later. |
