The filming of "Fengshen Trilogy" is expected to be shut down on January 15, 2020, with one film released every year

Song Ge, chairman of Beijing Culture, revealed at the opening forum of the Golden Rooster Awards that the filming of the "Fengshen Trilogy" is expected to end on January 15, 2020, with the first part to be released next summer. The remaining two parts will be released one year after next and the year after next.

At present, the "Fengshen Trilogy" directed by Wuershan has announced the first batch of leading actors, including Huang Bo, Fei Xiang, Li Xuejian, Xia Yu and new actors Yu Shi and Hai Liang, who play Jiang Ziya, King Yin Shou of Shang, King Ji Chang of Xibo, Shen Gongbao, Ji Fa and Yin Jiao respectively in the film.

According to previous reports, the "Fengshen" trilogy is the most expensive film in Chinese film history, with more than 2,000 staff members and a budget of 3 billion yuan.

The "Investiture of the Gods Trilogy" is based on the well-known Chinese classical novel "Investiture of the Gods", which tells a long-lasting mythological war between humans, immortals and demons more than 3,000 years ago. One of the difficulties in filming the movie is the adaptation of the script. Adapting a 100-chapter novel into three movies requires appropriate choices and solid refinement.

Wuershan previously told foreign media Variety that he wanted to use the Marvel Universe's methods to explore every character in the "Fengshen" movie, build this IP into a blockbuster series, create personal independent movies for different gods and warriors, and plan his film career for the next 30 years.

The goal of "Fengshen Trilogy" is to become the Chinese version of "The Lord of the Rings", and for this purpose, "The Lord of the Rings" producer Barry Osborne was invited to serve as the film consultant.
