There's still a little over a month until Netflix's live-action series The Witcher premieres, but producer Lauren Hissrich says she already has bigger ambitions for Geralt's future adventures. In an interview with SFX Magazine, Hissrich said she has seven seasons planned. Hissrich told SFX that she has planned stories for seven seasons of The Witcher TV series. This is a long way to go, but the producer also said that "the current focus is on how you set up a good story to really attract the audience for many years to come. The worst thing we can do is to cram everything into the first season without considering the growth of these characters." Luckily, the team behind The Witcher live-action series still has plenty of stories to draw from. Judging from the trailer, it looks like the first season of The Witcher will be based on the original novel's short story collections Sword of Destiny and The Last Wish. That means there are still five novels in the series to adapt, plus a standalone novel that could affect Hissrich's plans. Of course, this is just a plan, because Netflix has not even confirmed the production of the second season, let alone the remaining six seasons. The Witcher Season 1 will premiere on Netflix on December 20. |
