Star Wars Jedi star Cameron Monaghan recently discussed TRON: God of War, the sequel to TRON: Legacy in which he will be starring, and he also expressed his own personal connection to the series. In a recent interview with Collider, Monaghan discussed the third phase of TRON filming and the film's visual aesthetic. "I think this phase, in a similar way, is going to push the boundaries of what's possible from a visual perspective," he said. "Sometimes I'll even go to the set on days I'm not working because it's so cool. A lot of the actual sets are so amazing that I just want to see them." He recalled watching the first TRON movie, starring Jeff Bridges, when he was young. The movie came out in 1982. “I remember watching the original and I thought it was a 90s movie because it was amazing how films from that era could look so amazing and use computer graphics the way they did,” he said. He had the opportunity to attend the premiere of TRON: Legacy in 2010 and said the film has developed a loyal fan base and that, just like the first film, people think it's really cool from a technical perspective, but the third film will take it a step further. "So I like that there are so many years between these films. They don't come around very often, but whenever they do, they mark a new era in technology and filmmaking." TRON: God of War is expected to be released in theaters in 2025. |
