Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon wraps up, author George R.R. Martin likes it

According to an article by author George R.R. Martin on February 17, the first season of the Game of Thrones spin-off prequel House of the Dragon has been completed, and the old man said that he likes the show very much. House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of the Targaryen family's rise to power.

George R.R. Martin wrote in the article: "Exciting news from London - I have learned that filming on the first season of House of the Dragon has been completed. Yes, all 10 episodes. I have seen some rough cuts of some of them and I like them very much. Of course, there is still a lot of work to be done. Special effects, color grading, soundtrack, all post-production work."

House of the Dragon is based on George R.R. Martin's novel Fire and Blood, the first volume of which was released in November 2018.

When talking about the release date, George Martin said that there is still a lot of work to be done on the show, and the COVID-19 pandemic has made the plan difficult to implement, so he cannot confirm the specific release date. Previously, HBO had stated that the show will be released in 2022.
