Daniel Wu, Wu Kang-jen, and Liu Junqian join Cold War prequel

During the Beijing Film Festival, it was announced that the Cold War series will start filming a prequel, with Daniel Wu, Wu Kangren, and Liu Junqian joining in. The role information is unknown, and more cast members are yet to be announced.

Earlier, "Cold War 1994" and "Cold War 1995" have completed the script synopsis filing at the film festival. "Cold War 1994" tells the story of a kidnapping case of a wealthy man in Hong Kong in 1994, which set off a turmoil in all walks of life and immediately damaged the status of Hong Kong's financial center. During the investigation, the police force had their own ulterior motives and clung to the powerful for fame and fortune. "Cold War 1995" tells the story of MI6, which controls the security of the Far East, coming to Hong Kong to deal with the aftermath of a kidnapping case and taking the opportunity to eliminate dissidents. In order to protect Ruolan, Li Wenbin fights the killer and discovers MI6's conspiracy! At the same time, Pan Zhiang kills his relatives in order to fight for property and colludes with MI6 to start a war. Li Wenbin endures the pain of losing his father and is determined to calm down all the chaos.
