Villeneuve: I have started writing the script for Dune 3

Recently, Denis Villeneuve, the director of the Dune series, accepted an exclusive interview with the New York Times, in which he revealed that he has begun writing the script for Dune 3. In addition, he also compared the protagonist Paul in Dune to Michael Corleone (the protagonist of The Godfather) in the science fiction world, saying, "He has become someone he doesn't want to be."

When talking about the love-hate relationship between Paul and Chini, Villeneuve said: "Paul betrayed Chini on many levels. The most important thing is not the betrayal in love, but the fact that he became a person who imprisoned the Fremen in a mental prison, a leader who was not for liberation but for control of the Fremen. This is a tragedy in tragedy. Just like Michael Corleone in the science fiction world, he became a person he didn't want to be, and he will find a way to redeem his soul in the third part."
