Today (July 25), HBO Chairman Casey Bloys said that although 1.7 million people have petitioned for a remake, we have never seriously considered it.

Regarding the petition to remake the eighth season of "Game of Thrones", HBO Chairman Casey Bloys said that although about 1.7 million people petitioned on Change.org to remake the show and find a "competent screenwriter", they really never had such plans.

Casey Bloys said: "Although "Game of Thrones", a TV series that is super popular all over the world, does have some shortcomings, when we try to bring it to an end, many viewers have a lot of 'big suggestions' on how the show should end. I think this is a normal and natural thing, and the petition also shows the fans' enthusiasm for the show, but we have never seriously considered this matter."

At the same time, Casey Bloys also said that the fans' petition will not have any impact on the filming of the "Game of Thrones" prequel. Currently, the "Game of Thrones" prequel is expected to be broadcast in the second half of 2020, but the most likely broadcast time is in the summer of 2021.
