Lionsgate is confident that the reboot of "Saw" will be moved up by 5 months!

Earlier this month, we reported on the first cast of the reboot of the Saw series, including Samuel Jackson, who is still strong and healthy. According to the latest news from Deadline yesterday (23), Lionsgate has decided to move up the release date of the film to May 15, 2020, a full 5 months earlier than originally planned! Fans of Saw can look forward to the performance of this reboot in the summer of next year.

Chris Rock is obviously the biggest contributor to this film. He is not only responsible for the script of the film, but will also play the protagonist - a detective investigating a series of crimes. Newcomer Samuel L. Jackson will play his father. Minghella plays William Schenk, a partner in a rock band, and Nichols will play Captain Angie Garza, the boss of the rock band.

"We think Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Rock and Minghella will make this film something very unique, and we can't wait to show fans this unexpected and sinister story," Lionsgate chairman Joe Drake said in a statement. "This will be a new Saw at full speed and it will be well worth the attention of loyal fans."

It is worth mentioning that Locke has proposed many story processing methods for the new film that has recently started production. The script was written by Pete Goldfinger ("Jigsaw") and Josh Stolberg ("Piranha 3D"). Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed three films in the "Saw" series, will return to the director's seat this time, and the producers are Mark Berg and Oren Cowles. The film is expected to be completed in the second half of this year.
