Netflix recently released the latest stills of the main characters in the upcoming "The Witcher" adaptation. It was revealed that the show will be launched in the form of eight episodes on December 20, 2019. Today, Netflix's "See What's Next" account posted a tweet highlighting the photos with the caption "It begins @witchernetflix." In October 2018, the company released an unedited video clip of Henry Cavill as Geralt, which received a mixed reaction from the series' avid fans. Later, a photo of a Nilfgaardian soldier in armor hit the internet, which received a similarly cold response. Details about the show's plot are scarce, but it's likely that it's based on the novel by Andrzej Sapkowski. In fact, Sapkowski is also a creative consultant on the Netflix series, so we hope his involvement will help make the series more reliable. The Witcher series' popularity as a video game IP remains high today if developer CD Projekt Red's financial reports are anything to go by. Despite The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt being released four years ago, sales from it are said to still be one of the company's main sources of revenue. |
