News came from the "Netflix Japan 2021 Film Festival" currently being held in Japan that director Hirokazu Koreeda, who was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars for "Shoplifters" and won the Cannes Palme d'Or, will produce movies and series for the streaming media company.

Hirokazu Koreeda said that the new movie he is making with Netflix is ​​completely different from his previous works, and the investment will be very large. In addition, he will serve as the operator of the original series and will direct several episodes. "The series I am going to shoot would hardly exist without Netflix's investment. I will work with a group of young directors on this work."

After "Shoplifters" in 2019, Hirokazu Koreeda began international cooperation. He first filmed "The Truth" directed by a French director, and then collaborated with Bae Doona, Song Kangho, Kang Dong Won, and "IU" Lee Ji-eun on the Korean movie "The Broker".
