After 40 years, the classic horror film "The Shining" finally has a sequel "Doctor Sleep". The producer Warner released the first trailer last night. Like the previous film, the film is adapted from the novel of the same name written by Stephen King. It will be based on Danny, the son of Jack (Jack Nicholson) in the original story, and has been scheduled for January 24, 2020. Doctor Sleep trailer: In Doctor Sleep, Ewan McGregor plays an adult version of Danny, and [Rebecca Ferguson] plays a pretty scary character. Part of this trailer is almost the same as in The Shining 40 years ago, when Danny finds someone writing on the wall upside down in his bedroom, and wakes up one day to find the word murder written upside down. Warner Bros. has long planned to shoot a sequel to The Shining, but film projects including Doctor Sleep and The Overlook have been delayed due to funding issues. Last year, the success of IT, a subsidiary of New Line Cinema, rekindled Warner's confidence in the horror film market, and Doctor Sleep was successfully put on the production schedule. According to the novel, the sequel takes place 35 years after the Overlook Hotel incident. After dealing with a series of horrific experiences of mental trauma and alcoholism, Danny becomes a nurse working in a hospital, using his psychic powers to help the elderly end their remaining lives. He senses a little girl named Amber who has super psychic powers, and their lives are being cruelly threatened by a supernatural tribe... The movie "Doctor Sleep" was written and directed by Mike Flanagan, who previously adapted Stephen King's work "Gerald's Game." Video screenshots: |
