(Spoiler warning) The first episode of the final season of "Game of Thrones" scored 8 points on IGN, 9.4 on IMDb, and 97% on Rotten Tomatoes

The first episode of the final season of Game of Thrones premiered on HBO and Tencent Video at 9 am (Beijing time) today. IGN, IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes also gave their own ratings, 8 points, 9.9 points and 94% respectively. IGN commented: The first episode of the eighth season of Game of Thrones is still wonderful, and the excellent scene design tries to show more vivid moments of each character.

IGN: After a long wait, Game of Thrones Season 8 is finally here. Of course, a lot of tedious work must have been done to make this final work better presented to the audience on TV. But the first episode of the final season sometimes feels like the production team is making a big move instead of telling a cohesive story.

The producers still set up some potential funny segments in this episode, but players should be thankful that many popular characters have returned. In the one-hour long first episode, both some sarcastic and popular characters have made great progress in the first episode.

However, some tricky storytelling in the first episode undermined the drama of the whole show to a certain extent, but now all the characters, both good and bad, are in place, and it feels like the conflict of the whole story will become more intense.
